I am a person who is doing okay. I want to talk about people, more specifically High School students. They can be your best friend, your best enemy, your bully, your victim, your neighbor, but they are your something. High School students can be awful, but they can also be awesome. They help to teach you life lessons, without you even knowing. You hear your parents say "you will either love or hate high school, just look forward to college," and that might be what is pulling some people through high school, but not me. I have had my fair share of it all, my best friends since I was 2 who my family did everything with for a decade, turned out to be my best enemy. One of my other best friends in middle school turned out to be using me to get popular and to get guys. I have had 4 boyfriends, and been through multiple friendships, but here I am now, and I am doing okay. I have my mom, and my best friends who are also my family friends, I have my dad (sometimes), and I have God. I have everything I need, and everything I have been through from losing boyfriends to best friends, from losing pets to grandparents, from losing 4 of my siblings, has made me who I am today, and who I am today is a 15 year old girl in her freshman year of high school, who is doing okay.

Every week I basically do the same thing. I wake up, go to school for 8 hours, go home, do homework or go out with friends, eat dinner and shower, then go to bed, but every day there is always something I can look forward to. If I am doing something fun in class, I look forward to that, or if I am doing something fun after school or on the weekend, I look forward to that.
I look forward to the little things because they bring me joy. For example, this weekend I am going to a surprise birthday party for one of my old guy friends, and I have been looking forward to it all weekend. I look forward to my favorite dinner meals my mom cooks, or I get to go home and watch my Netflix show, or I get excited about my plans for the weekend. I am typically a very happy person, so little things bring me happiness. This week for our blog post topic, I chose to have free write. This week we just got back from Spring Break, and I am all over the place. This week has felt like it has been a month long, but it's Friday! For this Free Write, I am just going to talk about me, more specifically who I am, where I come from, etc.
As you know, my name is Ellie White. My parents are Eddie and Denise White and I have a younger sister in 8th grade named Emily, I also have a dog named Lulu. My dad owns Fuzzy's Taco Shop Restaurants and my mom doesn't work. She likes to shop, and play golf and tennis, and she does everything with her friends. My sister plays school, club, and beach volleyball, she is very committed. I don't see her that much because she has volleyball everyday but next weekend we are going to Chicago to watch her play, she is very good. My dog is very special, she is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and she is getting old so all she does is sleep and eat and go outside. Now, about me. I moved here to Flower Mound when I was about 1 and 1/2. My dad used to work for Bank of America and he received a huge promotion when my mom was pregnant with me so they headed up to North Carolina and that's where my sister and I were born. At the time, my mom was a flight attendant but she decided to quit when she had me. Eventually Bank of America let my parents move back to Flower Mound and we have lived her ever since. I don't play any sports, I used to play volleyball but I burned out of that in the 8th grade. I absolutely love to shop, and I love to be with my friends all the time, so my mom and I get along pretty well, except for when I have attitude. My dad and I don't get along that great, and my sister and I get along for about 1 week out of the whole year. Now that I have told you about some of my life, I will fill in the rest of my life on my next Free Write! This past week we were on our Spring Break, so I am going to tell you about mine! My Spring Break in a nutshell was really just me hanging out with my friends. On the Friday we got out for break, all my friends and I hung out because some of them left for a trip the next day. On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I hung out with friends I never have the opportunity to hang out with. Then on Tuesday my friend and I, Kendal, went to get our nails done and packed for our trip to Arizona! My mom and Kendal's mom decided to take us to Arizona from Wednesday- Friday, just for a little get away.
Our flight left at 7 in the morning on Wednesday. We arrived in Arizona at around 7:30 in the morning because there is a time change. When we got there we went to look around ASU for a bit and headed down to our hotel. While we were there we laid by the pool, tanned, went shopping, and ate amazing food! It was awesome! Then our flight on Friday left at 5 p.m. Arizona time so we landed in Dallas at 9:30. My dad and my sister Emily had left for her volleyball tournament in Houston that morning so Kendal's dad picked us up from the airport. On Saturday, it was my friend Reagan's birthday so she asked me to go shopping with her. Later that night I went to my best friend Frankie's house with my other best friends: Sophie, Ella, and Kendal. We woke up at around 12 on Saturday morning and we decided to go to Kendal's house to swim for a while. We all left at around 5 and I prepared to go to school the next day, which is today, which is a huge bummer. All in all, my Spring Break was amazing and very well-spent, although I could do for an extra week off, or maybe we just skip straight to summer. Spring Break is coming up on us very soon! I am so excited and I cannot wait, not that I don't love school, I don't. I hate the stress, the judgemental people, and caring about what everyone thinks of me, and getting a pimple and hating myself even though everyone has them. I care so much about my reputation, my looks, everything. I like to make good impressions, and even though everyone gets pimples, I have a complete panic attack the second I have one. I can barely look in the mirror or look straight at people because I am so embarrassed, but I am trying to deal with it.
Anyways back to the point, I am so excited for a break from school. No homework, no seeing people I don't want to see, no stress, just fun! I am going to Arizona with one of best friends, Kendal Harwell. Spring Break happens at the perfect time, just when everyone is done with each other and everyone is tired with school overload. I will just say, I am so ready for this break and I am so ready for summer. My Go-To idea or topic is Selena Gomez. I really don't have any go-to person I just know a lot about her. Most people in this world, especially people who live in the United States, know who Selena Gomez is and have probably heard some or most of her songs. Selena Gomez took a God- given talent and made herself into a household name.
Selena connects to sports because she is very invested in spending time at the gym. If you ever read news blogs like Daily Mail or Buzz Feed, Selena is seen leaving or entering the gym almost 50% of the time. She also stays caught up with major league sports. She goes to all sorts of games from the NBA to the MLB to the NFL. The paparazzi always seem to catch her cheering on her favorite teams, court side of course. Selena is connected to technology in many ways. Without technology, Selena probably would not be a household name. She uses social media like Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. to alert people about any upcoming concerts, any news in her life, where she is, what she is doing, who she is with. Having a bad article written about her and expressed all over social media through technology, scares Selena. She has to push through this fear and carry on, because life won't stop just for her to catch up. Technology might just be the most important role in Selena's fame, besides her amazing voice. Gomez is a huge fan of literature. Selena goes to public libraries all over the world and donates books, reads to children, and emphasizes the importance of reading. She could have a fear of public speaking, but she learns to overcome it so she can sing in front of thousands, go to award shows, and be featured in the news. Being a public figure, Selena is a role model for many people, and everything she does could have an effect on some of her fans, and could effect her fame. Arts and Entertainment are what Selena is known for! Selena is a singer, and without her voice she would just be a regular person. Selena makes music videos, dances, tours the world to provide concerts for her #1 fans. She attends the Grammy's, the Oscars, the Emmys, etc. Singing is an art, and she provides entertainment through art for us all. Selena Gomez is more than just a singer. She is a model, a dancer, a traveler, a singer of course, and more. People observe her from a day to day basis. People write news articles about what she wears, her knew songs, her new friends or boyfriend, where she was the night before, how she did at her concert, why she had to cancel a tour. Everything Selena Gomez does is observed by someone or something. Selena said one of her main fears she struggles with is Instagram. Being constantly judged by people on that app is horrifying, but Instagram is one of the main ways she alerts her fans and gets publicity, so she has to overcome her fears and struggles, and push through it for the benefit of herself and her fans. Selena Gomez is a huge enthusiast of staying in school. She promotes education to everyone to try to help give everyone a good future. Gomez will go down in history for all of her awards, her songs, her tours, her speeches, her appearances all over the world, everything. Selena has fears just like everyone of us, maybe it's heights, sharks, snakes, spiders, but she has a fear, and she had to overcome that fear. Selena is a role model for many, and her overcoming fear will help others around the world overcome their own. Selena Gomez is constantly being mentioned throughout the news. Almost every time she goes out, there is an article somewhere out there written about her. If something traumatic happens, the next morning there will be a news story about it. Bad publicity could ruin Selena, and that is one of her biggest fears. Selena has to overcome that fear, she has no choice if she wants to continue being famous and having fans adore her. Selena overcomes fear everyday by ignoring judgement, ignoring bad publicity, and pushing through it every single day. |
